Head of Finance (m/f/d)

That's The Job

  • You take overall responsibility for our accounting and finance function and, together with your team, further develop a reliable, accurate and scalable finance function for our national and international entities.
  • You lead, support and develop the existing team of 7 employees both professionally and personally – with a clear focus on priorities, quality and positive collaboration.
  • You ensure that our tax-related topics are handled on time, correctly and transparently – in particular VAT, US sales tax and other domestic and international tax filings.
  • You are responsible for timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and tax law and ensure that figures are not only correct, but also understandable.
  • You develop meaningful reports and create a clear basis for decision-making, planning and steering.
  • You challenge existing workflows, further develop lean finance and accounting processes and drive digitalization, automation and meaningful AI support in our ERP and finance systems.
  • You work closely with tax advisors, auditors, banks, management and internal teams and ensure that Finance is perceived as a reliable partner within the company.
  • You bring structure to complex topics, implement necessary changes consistently and always keep in mind what truly helps us move forward as a company.

That's You

  • You have completed a degree with a focus on finance, accounting, controlling, business administration, taxes or a comparable qualification.
  • You bring at least 5 years of professional experience in finance and accounting.
  • You have already led or functionally managed a team for at least 3 years and know how to support and develop people while also setting clear expectations.
  • You have sound knowledge of HGB, monthly and annual financial statements, tax law and ideally experience with international topics such as VAT abroad or US sales tax.
  • You make decisions even when topics are complex and are willing to implement necessary changes consistently and pragmatically.
  • You think in terms of processes and systems, enjoy working with ERP and finance systems such as DATEV and take pleasure in making workflows simpler, faster and better.
  • You work in a structured, careful and solution-oriented way – without getting lost in details, but with the expectation that the details are correct.
  • You communicate clearly, reliably and at eye level – with your team, management, external partners and other departments.
  • Strong language skills – German at C1 level and English at least at B2 level. Confident communication in both languages is important – written and spoken.
